It’s hard to believe that June is just around the corner and I haven’t ventured outside the US yet this year. Normally, I’d be three vacations deep by now, soaking up the sun in some exotic location or exploring new cultures. But hey, life happens, and sometimes we find ourselves grounded when we least expect it. However, all is not lost because I have some exciting news! Next month, I’m heading to Africa with my brothers and sisters in Christ, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
Now, let’s get one thing straight: this trip isn’t some grand missionary mission to spread the word or anything — that’s just not my style. Our primary goal is more about giving back and sharing our blessings rather than preaching. We’re going there to deliver school supplies and teach — and honestly, I can’t think of a more rewarding way to spend my time. Education is such a powerful tool, and I’m excited to play a small role in supporting the youth there.
I’ve always believed that joy multiplies when shared. When we share our resources and experiences, it creates ripples of positivity that can impact lives in ways we may never fully understand. Knowing that the school supplies we bring will aid students in their learning journey fills me with anticipation. It’s one thing to travel for leisure, but traveling with a purpose adds a layer of fulfillment that no beach vacation could ever provide.
I can’t wait to dive into this experience with my travel companions. There’s something incredibly special about embarking on a journey with people who share similar values and passions. It brings a sense of community and camaraderie that makes the trip even more meaningful. I’m looking forward to bonding over new experiences, facing challenges together, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
So, here’s to embracing the unexpected! Instead of wishing for the typical beach getaway, I’m gearing up for an adventure that’s about making a difference. Who knows what opportunities this trip will bring, both for me and for the communities we’ll be visiting? Let the countdown to Africa begin!
